HOPE Extended Care Services employs Nurse Practitioners to treat the residents of long-term care facilities. Our network of providers are an accessible resource in elevating the acute-, geriatric-, and psychiatric care of patients.
HOPE enables greater outcomes in senior care for patients, facilities, physicians, and area hospitals.
Company History
Dr. James L Gardner III provided the idea to create HOPE Extended Care Services. As a primary care physician in Lawrence County Pennsylvania, he saw the need for a greater presence of medical care in area nursing homes. He believed that by having Nurse Practitioners on-site everyday, residents would gain prompt attention to acute symptoms and changes of condition that would otherwise lead to hospitalization or further illness.
In October 2013, HOPE Extended Care Services, Inc. was incorporated. Karl Sauereisen was appointed President of HOPE in June 2014 to recruit a team of Certified & Registered Nurse Practitioners and to expand operations. HOPE's network of partner facilities has grown in areas surrounding Pittsburgh, PA ranging from Greenville to the North, Washington to the South, and State College to the East.
Implementation of HOPE's electronic medical records system occurred in July 2015. At approximately the same time, HOPE Extended Care established full independence from Dr. Gardner's office practice. Dr. Gardner has since maintained his affiliation with HOPE as Chief Medical Officer.
In February 2016, Dr. Margy Delposen joined HOPE as Corporate Medical Director to serve as an additional Collaborating Physician and to guide the professional development of HOPE's providers.
